HP EliteBook 840 G1 & G2 are very strong and durable laptops, however there are circumstances where they suffer serious issues. Most common one is when the laptop turns on, fan runs very fast but shows nothing on the screen.
Particularly the laptop in the pictures above could turn on, fan spin very fast but nothings comes on the screen. We diagnosed the motherboard and discovered water had entered into the motherboard and destroyed the RAM power supply section. We ordered and replaced RAM Power supply controller and smoothing capacitors and the laptop turned on with display again.
