The part in your hand is the crankshaft timing belt sprocket for the Mitsubishi 6G74 3.5L V6 engine used in Pajero, Montero and Triton.
It fits on the nose of the crankshaft inside the timing cover. Its outer 23 teeth drive the timing belt which turns both camshafts, while the inner splined bore with keyway locks it to the crank. The half-moon plate on the back is the belt guide and crank position sensor reluctor, and the small dowel pin on top sets accurate TDC timing alignment.
