The Radeon R5 230 was a graphics card by AMD, launched on April 3rd, 2014. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the Caicos graphics processor, in its Caicos PRO variant, the card supports DirectX 11.2. The Caicos graphics processor is a relatively small chip with a die area of only 67 mm2 and 370 million transistors. It features 160 shading units, 8 texture mapping units, and 4 ROPs. AMD has paired 1,024 MB DDR3 memory with the Radeon R5 230, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface.
