Responsibilities
Welcoming patients and visitors, providing a positive, compassionate, and professional first impression. Managing, confirming, and rescheduling appointments for doctors and specialists to optimize staff time. Answering, screening, and directing incoming phone calls, taking messages, and handling inquiries. Checking in patients, verifying insurance eligibility, scanning documents, and updating personal/financial information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Scanning, filing, and retrieving patient records, processing paperwork, and managing correspondence. Collecting co-pays and payments, processing billing information, and managing patient accounts. Ensuring the reception area is neat, clean, and welcoming. Addressing patient questions, resolving conflicts, and providing information about services.
Requirements & Skills
Acting as the first point of contact, they must greet patients warmly, communicate clearly with medical staff, and handle phone calls professionally. Ability to operate One Education EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and appointment scheduling software is crucial for managing patient records. Managing multiple tasks simultaneously—such as answering phones, checking in patients, and filing documents—without errors. Providing a reassuring environment for anxious patients and visitors. Efficiently addressing urgent situations, scheduling conflicts, and demanding situations. Ensuring accuracy in recording patient personal and financial information. Discretion with patient information. Handling stressful situations and high-traffic periods calmly.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in a healthcare or medical environment.Knowledge of medical terminology.
Minimum Experience
1 year
A hospital receptionist who is ready to serve as a primary point of contact, managing front desk operations, patient check-ins, scheduling, and telephone inquiries to ensure efficient, welcoming, and secure patient experiences is needed.
