Responsibilities
Welcoming customers, offering product recommendations, helping locate items, and resolving complaints to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Operating the Point of Sale (POS) system to process cash, credit card, and digital transactions accurately, including managing returns and exchanges.
Receiving, unpacking, and organizing inventory; restocking shelves; and arranging products (merchandising) according to company guidelines to maximize sales.
Cleaning the sales floor, windows, shelves, and stockrooms to ensure a tidy, safe, and appealing environment.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of stock items, pricing, promotions, and store policies to effectively answer customer question.
Assisting with stock takes (inventory checks) to monitor stock levels and identify discrepancies.
Requirements & Skills
Able to interact with customers and colleagues clearly and professional.
Persuasive skills to encourage purchases and promote in-store sales.
Thoroughness in handling stock and maintaining cleanliness.
Patience and ability to remain calm in stressful, busy, or customer-facing situations.
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
At least O-level or equivalent, though many positions preferred.
1–3 years of experience in a retail, cashier, or customer service role is highly desirable, often required.
Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, ability to handle cash, and a strong work ethic are crucial.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift stock when required.
Basic familiarity with POS systems, cash registers, or inventory management systems.
