It is an elegant hourglass-shaped flask made from non-porous borosilicate glass that does not absorb odors or chemical residues.
The coffeemaker has a heatproof polished wood collar and a leather tie, allowing for easy handling when hot.
It is designed for use with proprietary bonded paper filters that remove most coffee oils, resulting in a cleaner brew.
The design, invented in 1941, is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
