Garden Worker (Omulimi We Waka)

Key Responsibilities Water young coffee plants and newly planted matoke when necessary. Apply manure or fertilizer as instructed. Plant and maintain matoke (banana) according to recommended farming practices. Replace dead coffee or banana plants when required. Prune coffee plants and remove diseased or damaged branches. Monitor crops for pests and diseases and report any problems. Dig planting holes and prepare land for new crops. Keep farm tools clean, safe, and in good working condition. Maintain cleanliness of the farm and surrounding areas. Follow instructions from the farm owner or supervisor. Observe health and safety practices while working. Skills and Requirements Basic knowledge of coffee and banana farming. Ability to use common farm tools such as hoes, pangas, slashers, and watering cans. Physically fit and able to work outdoors. Hardworking, honest, reliable, and disciplined. Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Requirements Previous experience in gardening or farming is preferred. Physically fit and able to perform manual work outdoors. Willing to work full-time and follow instructions. Honest, trustworthy, and of good character. Punctual and reliable. Able to work in all weather conditions. Basic knowledge of coffee and banana (matoke) farming is an added advantage. Skills Weeding and garden maintenance. Planting and caring for young coffee and matoke. Land preparation and digging planting holes. Watering crops and applying manure or fertilizer. Pruning coffee plants. Identifying common crop pests and diseases. Safe use and maintenance of farm tools (hoe, panga, slasher, watering can, wheelbarrow, etc.). Time management and organization. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and willingness to learn new farming techniques.

Minimum Qualification Requirements Age: 18 years and above. Ability to read and write basic English or the local language. Basic knowledge of gardening, coffee farming, and matoke (banana) cultivation is an added advantage. Previous experience in farm or garden work is preferred but not mandatory. Must be physically fit and able to perform manual work outdoors. Must be honest, hardworking, reliable, and willing to follow instructions. These qualifications are suitable for employing a Garden Worker / Farm Attendant in Uganda.
