Origin and History: The game originated in ancient India as "Moksha Patam" and is now considered a worldwide classic.
Gameplay: It is a race game for two or more players, where participants roll a die to move their pieces across a numbered grid.
Objective: The goal is to be the first player to reach the final square of the board.
Mechanics: Players are helped by "ladders" which allow them to climb to higher squares, but are hindered by "snakes" which force them to slide down to lower squares.
Nature: The game is based entirely on luck and is popular with young children.
