Mercedes-Benz physical key shell is the outer plastic housing of a Mercedes-Benz car key shell. It is the protective case that holds the internal electronics, battery, buttons, and the physical metal key blade.
What it includes / does
The shell itself is just the empty outer body (no circuit board, no battery, and usually no pre-cut blade unless specified).
It protects the remote’s electronics and provides the buttons for lock, unlock, trunk, and panic functions.
It houses or attaches the physical metal key blade (also called the emergency key or insert key).
