Packaging Anomalies to Check
Counterfeiters often replicate retail packages closely, but certain inconsistencies frequently stand out under careful visual inspection:
• Text and Alignment: Compare the font weights, spacing, and sharp alignment between the left and right packaging samples. Counterfeits often use a slightly different typeface or show fuzzy, bleeding ink registration.
• Color Accuracy: Authentic SanDisk packaging relies on precise Pantone color matching. A noticeable shift—such as a darker, muddy red or a tint closer to orange—typically indicates a replication.
• Plastic Blister Shape: Authentic retail cards feature a sturdier blister cavity with distinct, smooth perimeter indentations. Fake packs often look entirely flat on the back or use thin, flimsy plastic that shifts easily.
