This allows one of the side plates to swing open so that a wire rope, synthetic line, or cable can be threaded onto the inner wheel (sheave) without having to feed the entire length of the rope through from the end.Top Hook: A heavy-duty, drop-forged steel hook allows the block to be secured to an anchor point, a vehicle, or a lifting load.Safety Lock / Linkage: The pin and locking mechanism near the top secure the swinging side plate in place before a load is applied, ensuring the line cannot slip out during operation.
