Origin: The Primus stove was the first pressurized-burner kerosene (paraffin) stove, invented in 1892 by Frans Wilhelm Lindqvist in Stockholm, Sweden.
Design: It's based on the design of the hand-held blowtorch, with the burner turned upward for cooking instead of outward.
Functionality: It operates by pressurizing fuel in a tank, which is then released and vaporized to create a gas jet for cooking.
Legacy: The name "Primus" became synonymous with reliable stoves and was used in demanding expeditions, including Roald Amundsen's journey to the South Pole.
