The Spinner (Right Tub) Won't SpinThe Safety Lid Switch: Twin tubs use a mechanical safety switch that cuts power to the spinner motor when you open the blue lid. If the switch is broken, bent, or disconnected inside the control panel, the spinner will not run even if the lid is closed.The Brake Cable: Opening the spinner lid pulls a steel cable attached to a mechanical brake pad on the spin motor. If this cable snaps or stretches, the brake pad stays clamped on the motor, stopping it from spinning and causing it to hum loudly.Blown Capacitor: If the spin motor hums but fails to spin on its own, the capacitor is likely failing to provide enough starting power.
