The roof frame is purposely assembled at ground level around or directly above the stage platform so riggers do not need tall ladders to attach lights or tarps; it is only hand-winched up to full height after all overhead gear is clamped onto the truss.
Winch Cable Friction & Safety Pins: Manual hand winches rely on tension cables over top pulleys to raise the heavy roof. Once the sleeve blocks reach the top of the towers, they must be mechanically locked with heavy-duty safety steel pins—the weight of the roof structure must never rest indefinitely on the winch wire cables alone.
