Senior Upholsterer

- Read drawings, measurements, sketches and production instructions before starting work. - Inspect furniture frames before upholstery and identify defects that could affect the final product. - Carry out webbing, springing, foam installation, padding and final upholstery. - Cut foam accurately according to product dimensions and required profiles. - Cut fabric, leather, artificial leather and other covering materials efficiently. - Sew cushions, covers, piping, zips and other upholstery components. -Install fabric and leather with correct tension and alignment. - Produce clean corners, seams, piping and finishing details. - Fit buttons, tufting, decorative studs and other upholstery details where required. - Manufacture and fit loose and fixed cushions. - Ensure cushions maintain the required shape, density and comfort. - Carry out repairs and refurbishment of existing upholstered furniture where required.

Particular attention must be given to: - Straight seams and stitching. - Matching patterns and fabric direction. - Proper fabric tension. - Symmetrical cushions and panels. - Correct foam thickness and density. - Clean and consistent piping. - Properly formed corners. - No visible staples on finished surfaces. - No wrinkles, sagging or loose fabric. - Correct measurements. - Proper alignment of cushions and upholstery components. Clean finished products without glue, stains, scratches or other defects.

- Practical training in upholstery, furniture production or a related trade. - At least 3–5 years of practical upholstery experience, with demonstrated ability to work independently. - Strong experience in sofa, chair, bed and general furniture upholstery. - Ability to operate an industrial sewing machine. - Strong fabric and foam cutting skills. - Good understanding of upholstery materials and foam densities. - Ability to interpret measurements and production drawings. - Ability to estimate material requirements. - Experience supervising or training junior workers is an advantage.
